Jennifer Perry has been teaching Ballet and Theatre classes for over 18 years. She was lucky to have studied and trained with her grandmother, Lareen Fender at The Ballet School. She also studied with Joffrey Ballet in New York, Houston Ballet, and with David Howard at his studio in New York City. Through her love of dance she also fell in love with the Theatre! She has won Shellie Awards for her Direction, Choreography and as an Actress in a Musical. Jennifer has been recognized by the Arts Endowment Foundation for her service in the arts and by the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Awards for her work as an Actress, Director and Choreographer.
Favorite roles include: Cassie (A Chorus Line), Frenchy (Grease), Bonnie Jean (Brigadoon), Louise (Carousel), Mary Warren (Crucible), Jennie Mae (Diviners), Ghost of Christmas Past (A Christmas Carol) Shellie Nominee, Suzy Hendrix (Wait Until Dark) and Bonnie (Anything Goes) for which she won a Shellie Award for Best Supporting Actress and a BATCCA.
Choreography credits include: Hairspray, A Chorus Line, Cinderella (Shellie Award Winner) Disney's Beauty and The Beast (Shellie Nominee), Annie, Sound Of Music, Titanic, Joseph and the Amazing..., Music Man, and Wizard Of Oz, along with countless original pieces.
Directing credits include: A Chorus Line, OKLAHOMA! (for which she won a Shellie Award), 42nd Street , and Guys and Dolls all for Contra Costa Musical Theatre and Red Hot and Cole for Role Players Ensemble.
Jennifer is a proud member of Fantasy Forum Actor's Ensemble and is thrilled to be going into her 16th year of teaching for Center REP's Young REP Acting Training Program, where she serves as co-director of the Musical Theatre Program. Jennifer is the Casting Director for Center REPertory Company the home theatre company of the Lesher Center for the Arts. Jennifer is happily married to her wonderful husband Vince and is a proud Mom to her beautiful daughter Grace. Jennifer was lucky enough to be born into a wonderful family who shares in the passion of Dance and Theatre Arts!
